• The Greater Toronto Electrical Contractors Association is a not-for-profit Trade Association representing over 350 electrical contractors delivering safe, stable, predictable, high quality electrical/communications construction and maintenance services.

Electrical Apprenticeship

The Association features a five-year comprehensive training program that includes more than 1,200 hours of classroom study in electrical theory and project safety, along with 9,000 hours of on-the-job training with experienced electricians.

The Electrical Apprentice Training Alliance Aims to Attract the Best Candidates

 
To streamline access, the Alliance now offers an online application process available during specific periods throughout the year based on industry demand. The thorough and lengthy process allows applicants to submit their applications and receive updates on their status.
 
The application process includes short essay questions, an online aptitude test, and a formal interview conducted by representatives from the Alliance, IBEW Local Union 353, and the Greater Toronto Electrical Contractors Association (ECA).
 
Sponsored by the Greater Toronto ECA and IBEW Local 353, the Electrical Apprentice Training Alliance has been recruiting and training pre-apprentices and apprentices for over 50 years. To date, more than 8,000 electricians in the GTA have graduated from its elite, industry-recognized program.
